We’ve translated 65 chapters over 7-8 volumes, with stories ranging from slice-of-life antics to historical commentary and alien invasions. It’s a wild universe with cute characters, but in the last year or so, the author’s really switched gears, and it’s no longer piquing our interest.
Making it especially hard is the fact that the author publishes 2-4 chapters in every monthly magazine, which means catching up is an uphill battle. With no interest, and more and more uninteresting chapters piling up on me, it’s been really hard for us to get motivated to get through it, especially with official releases on the way.
Translating CW was a great learning experience for me as a TL. A lot of chapters and volume extras were focused on scientific, philosophical, or historical facts and ideas that I had to do a lot of research on in order to produce an accurate and easily-read translation. As a team, we kept things consistent for over 65 chapters, a new record for consecutive translated chapters! (I think our last record was Koibana Onsen with 35.)
I’ll be releasing our untranslated raws for Centaur’s Worries as well as continuing my scans in the hopes of finding a translator interested in continuing the series, but for now, Futari wa Pretty Anon’s work with Centaur’s Worries has come to an end.
Thank you to everyone who supported our work on CW over the last 4 years, and good luck to whomever picks up this series in the future! Feel free to contact us anytime with any questions you may have.
If you love the series (or at least, the beginning chapters), I strongly urge you to support the official translation by Seven Seas. They’ve put a lot of heart into their translation from what I’ve seen, and I’ve heard the series is struggling a little, so go show them love!
